Ventus Energy, a leading supplier of high voltage services, has appointed Lee Glendening as its new managing director, effective as of Thursday, April 18, 2024. 

Taking over from Ken Ritson, who was in post for three years since the company’s inception, the appointment follows Ventus’ leadership succession plan and is in line with its growth strategy. Ken will continue working as part of the executive team, focused on developing new service offerings in tandem with increasing the company’s geographical footprint in the APAC and US regions. 

Previously director of projects where he was responsible for the overall management of all department personnel, client relationships and developing service offerings, Lee has been with Ventus since 2022 and has cemented himself as a dedicated member of the organisation’s leadership team. 

Bringing a wealth of industry knowledge, experience and capability, Lee’s past experience varies from mechanical engineering positions to roles within the Royal Marines. After embarking on a career in the offshore sector, he then progressed from roles such as rigging supervisor and testing and termination team leader, to undertaking more advanced positions including offshore manager, project manager and department head. 

Lee commented: 
“Ventus has gone from strength to strength and I am proud to be part of a team that is paving the way in adopting a cleaner approach to high voltage operations within the offshore and onshore wind sector. 

“My previous role within the organisation provided me with a solid foundation to lead from a company-wide perspective. From growing the projects division to creating a safe workplace and ensuring effective delivery of work scopes, these are traits I’ll be transferring into my new position. 

“As managing director, my primary focus will be to achieve scalable growth and prioritising customer satisfaction all while retaining the high levels of quality Ventus strives to deliver.”
