Gold award for Engage PR director

05/10/2019

Aberdeen-based Engage PR is celebrating after winning at a prestigious Scottish PR awards event in Glasgow.

James Donaldson, director at the communications agency, won the Outstanding Independent Practitioner Gold accolade at the CIPR Scotland PRide Awards 2019 ceremony attended by more than 300 industry professionals. The awards are organised by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.

Engage has a wide range of clients from ambitious start-ups to the Scottish operations of FTSE-listed firms. The company delivers strategic communications, marketing, digital, PR and creative content projects.

James said:
“I’m delighted to win this award. This success is down to hard work and offering proactive, creative support for projects. I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me, in particular our exceptional clients.”

Engage has worked with companies in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, the Central Belt, the north of England, Norway and Ireland. It’s latest client win is an innovative Norway-based company in the energy sector.
Engage has carved out a niche in the production of business awards entries at local, Scottish and UK level, with more than 100 nominations and 50 wins for clients. A former journalist, James added: “It’s a pleasant surprise to win an award after writing so many submissions for others.”

Established in 2009, Engage is based at Queens Terrace.

The CIPR PRide Awards is the UK’s most prestigious nationwide awards scheme, recognising success in public relations and communications with events in Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and across various regions in England. The Scottish event, held this year at the Radisson Blu in Glasgow city centre, is the largest ceremony outside London.
