Rovco launches new hydrographic division: “Rovco Survey Solutions”

07/06/2021

Rovco today announced the launch of a new hydrographic services division, “Rovco Survey Solutions”, building on their experience as a leader in asset integrity and ROV projects. Now offering a range of hydrographic, geophysical and site survey services across the offshore sector, and pledging an investment of £9.5m in the new division, to be spent over the next 24 months. Additionally, the company will expand their survey team, which has already flexed to more than 45 people for recent key projects, by welcoming a further 8 new survey staff members this month.

Rovco Survey Solutions will offer a broad range of hydrographic services, from wind farm site and cable route surveys, spanning seabed mapping, geophysical and shallow geotechnical services, to hazard surveys and UXO target identification. This will go alongside broader offerings such as UXO disposal, marine habitat assessment surveys and archaeological investigations. Utilising Vaarst’s SubSLAM 3D vision system, we also provide the world’s fastest method for conducting precision accurate point-to-point measurements for subsea metrology and dimensional control.

With experience in site investigations and detailed engineering surveys for both floating and fixed-bottom installations, Rovco have already worked at over 50% of the UK’s operational wind farms to date. Providing a fully flexible matched-to-need solution, with state-of-the-art equipment, deployment methods and reporting solutions.

The experienced team employ an end-to-end consultancy-led approach from initial project planning, through to data collection and reporting. Differentiating ourselves from other hydrographic providers, Rovco can deliver faster, flexible response times and quicker mobilisation options while also using AI and autonomy technology where appropriate.

“The launch of ‘Rovco Survey Solutions’ represents an important and significant milestone for our company”, said Simon Miller, our Managing Director. “Our objective is to fuse our immense talent of experienced surveyors and our inshore, nearshore and offshore operational know-how, with our cutting-edge technology and flexible approach. We continue to add to our hydrographic talent pool to grow our offering, enabling us to provide a single stop project-based solution for our customers.”

Simon Miller continues, “The European hydrographic survey market is expected to grow exponentially over the next few years, and as the growth of offshore wind continues. I am delighted that Rovco is now well-positioned to support our clients with their hydrographic survey and subsea robotics needs.”
