Lir Resources announces that Richard Walker is joining its senior technical team as Geoscientific Advisor.

Richard is a subsurface specialist, with 30 years experience in the oil and gas industry, all gained working for international operating companies including BG Group, Eni, LASMO and Mobil.

Richard’s expertise covers: geophysics; petroleum geology; subsurface operations and drilling; farm-ins, farm-outs and exploration commercial activity; managing complex stakeholder relationships; project management and team leadership.

Experienced across the exploration and production spectrum from frontier deep water exploration to onshore development activities. Richard was key to the discovery and successful appraisal of the El Feel (Elephant) Field in the Murzuk Basin, onshore Libya and a leading member of the team which opened up a 2tcf play fairway in China with the first exploration success in the Qiongdongnan Basin, South China Sea. During his time with BG Group, he also managed Uruguay's exploration programme.

Richard has a BSc. and MSc. in Geophysical Sciences and Exploration Geophysics. He is a Fellow of the Geological Society of London and holds Chartered Geologist status.
