KOC Successfully Implements 1st SIMOPs Operations in Sabriyah

31/12/2020

Delegations from the North Kuwait Directorate and Drilling & Technical Support Directorate recently visited Sabriyah Field to view the recent SIMOPs operations. The work was successfully implemented for the first time in KOC’s history at the SA-J19-CO Multi-Well Pad (MWP) for Drilling/Completion and hookup of simultaneous operations.

The MWP makes use of 12 wells and features the first “fishbone” configuration in North Kuwait. Multi-lateral and MSF wells are also utilized, with two wells out of the 12 in production. The drilling rig remains in operation to drill the remaining wells as necessary.

The visit was attended by several Team Leaders, including Moudi Al-Ajmi (TL RS NK), Jassim Al-Mansour (TL FD SA), Mishal Al-Mufaraj (TL FD RA), Naif Al-Harbi (TL PM-II), Mohammad Al-Anzi (TL PO SA/BA), Khalid Al-Ajmi (TL DD & WO Team XII), Hadi Al-Ajmi (TL DD & WO Team I) in addition to a number of engineers and representatives from Shell.

The visit falls under the overall KOC framework of ramping up production while adhering to methodologies in the field which contribute to better cost efficiencies.
