Andersen comes from the position as project manager in the Norwegian Offshore Wind Cluster in Haugesund and has a master's degree in materials science for energy and nanotechnology from the University of Oslo (2020).

In parallel with her position in the Norwegian Offshore Wind Cluster, she has been acting general manager of the Norwegian Marine & Energy Complex.

Karoline Sjøen Andersen has held several positions in Rogaland Høyre. She has been a member of the city council in Haugesund since 2019, where she is the faction leader for the planning and environment committee. She is also the informal leader of the climate network in Rogaland Høyre.

"I look forward to having Karoline on the team as a political advisor. She has an educational background and experience which means that she has a good knowledge of the energy field. Most of all, Karoline still has the political commitment and knowledge we will benefit from. At the same time, I would like to thank Erlend Jordal for the work he has done during almost one year in the MPE, in a very demanding time with the corona pandemic and many major issues in our sectors", says Minister of Petroleum and Energy Tina Bru.
