Infor partner Progressive TSL has successfully upgraded Dana Petroleum’s existing accounting system enabling the Aberdeen based exploration & production company to reap the benefits of the latest version of Infor SunSystems.

A new chapter with Progressive TSL 

Prior to engaging Progressive as its new Infor support partner back in September 2020, Dana was already using the oil & gas industry’s leading financial management system, Infor SunSystems.  It recognised that it was not using it to its full potential. Now that SunSystems 6.4 was available, it would be a good time to upgrade the existing system to capitalise on this functionally rich solution.  Progressive TSL is an Infor Gold Channel Partner and is known as a specialist in SunSystems implementations and in the specific needs of the energy sector. Recognising this, Dana selected Progressive to guide it through this upgrade.   

Standard Infor Reporting Application 

A key driver for Dana in commencing this project was to replace a third-party reporting tool with the Infor Q&A reporting application.  This app is provided as standard as part of the Infor SunSystems 6.4 solution.   

Upgrade & configuration underpinned by Progressive’s oil & gas implementation framework 

Based on the recommendations of Progressive’s systems review, Progressive TSL commenced the Infor SunSystems upgrade at Dana Petroleum during Q4 2020.  Progressive used its oil & gas implementation framework to configure the system to meet the specific needs of the industry.    

Lockdown Go-Live – on time and on budget 

Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, the Progressive and Dana teams could not meet in person during this project.  However, this has not delayed or unduly hampered the project. Progressive’s Aberdeen and London based oil & gas consultants have worked remotely with the Dana team to deliver the new system on time and on budget. Training workshops were run using Microsoft Teams with Dana now up and running and starting to reap the benefits of its new system.
