Gabon Licensing - Final Roadshow Events Announced

20/06/2021

The final events in the Gabon 12th Licensing Round roadshow will take place in Houston, Texas on 23 June, and either Paris, France, or Geneva, Switzerland on 28 June.

On 23 June, at the University of Houston, attendees are invited to watch a panel discussion on Gabon’s hydrocarbon exploration opportunities. The Minister of Petroleum, Gas and Mining will talk on the bid round itself, and potential bidders will learn about the available sub-surface data and receive geological insight.

PGS data coverage for Gabon 2021 license round opportunities

PGS Datasets Allow the Evaluation of Available Blocks

Screening datasets, such as the Gabon MegaSurvey are a cost-effective tool for regional evaluation over the 35 open blocks on offer. The Direction Generale des Hydrocarbures (DGH) and PGS now offer over 65 000 sq. km of 3D seismic and over 21 000 km of 2D seismic data offshore Gabon.

Data is also available for 167 wells within the MegaSurvey area. Value-added composite logs, used in conjunction with the regional seismic dataset, will help the assessment of prospectivity and play evaluation.

Through their ongoing collaboration, PGS and ION offer combined regional data packages incorporating PGS MegaSurvey and ION BasinSPAN data that cover both North and South Gabon areas. Each regional data package encompasses approximately 20 000 sq. km of 3D MegaSurvey with a minimum of 4500 km of 2D SPAN.

The final stop will be either Geneva or Paris, on 28 June 2021. Details will be published on http://gabon12thround.com as soon as they are confirmed.
