Webinar: What Makes a Good Carbon Sequestration Reservoir?

04/08/2021

Date: Aug 17, 2021
Time: 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM BST

Subsurface sequestration of CO2 emissions is expected to play a significant role in the Energy Transition and in the future energy landscape. There has been significant research and development activity over the last 25 years, along with a small number of successful operational schemes, and this is expected to grow in the next decade, both in the UK and elsewhere.

As part of a GaffneyCline series addressing changes being experienced by the energy industries, this webinar overviews the geological aspects of CO2 sequestration, the processes and key risks, drawing on reported experience from existing projects. It provides a framework for understanding and assessment of the geology of future potential.

Nick Stronach is a Principal Advisor in Geoscience, with over 35 years’ experience with international petroleum operating and consulting companies, and has been a UK Chartered Geologist for 28 years.  He has a wide international knowledge of sedimentary basin evolution, petroleum and reservoir geology, and resource assessment.
