The dancers on top of the turbines of a wind farm in the Highlands are the protagonists of a short film that debuts this week at Cop26, highlighting the role of Scottish wind in the fight against climate change. 

It is the award-winning company Corey Baker Dance that produced the short film "Leaders of a New Regime", lasting four minutes, with nine dancers dancing around and on the 120-meter-high wind turbines of the Millennium wind farm by Falck Renewables, in Scottish Highlands.

The soundtrack of the short film is "Leader of a New Regime", a song specially loaned for the project by Lorde, a New Zealand artist who is a friend of Corey, and taken from his acclaimed new album "Solar Power".

Corey Baker said: 
"We are thrilled to propose this new work which aims to bring people closer to one of the Cop26 themes, renewable energy. Art plays a central role in the dialogue on climate change and the moves that we must do - individually and collectively - to save our Planet. There are many preconceptions about wind turbines. What I wanted to do is show their beauty, their majesty and create a work that emphasizes the sense of harmony and compatibility between humanity, nature and renewable energy. In Leaders of a New Regime, we see dancers almost like children of wind turbines. I imagined a place where human beings live in harmony with renewable energy and work together with the natural environment and technology to create a better world. Lorde's passage fit this theme perfectly. We thank Falck Renewables for their support and the Millennium park team who went above and beyond in helping us realize our creative vision. "

"Leaders of a New Regime" will be screened at Cop26 on 4 November at 6pm (link to live streaming: https://bit.ly/3k0eXSo ) and then, on Wednesday 10 November, at the Global Leadership Foundation / United Nations Environment Program film festival , also at Cop26, followed by a debate with Corey.

The short film premiered last week at 10 Downing Street at a special reception celebrating Cop26-inspired artwork. Clips of the short film were also used for advertising on BBC Scotland in the run-up to the start of COP.
