Job opportunity: Regional GM - Europe/Eurasia/Sub-Saharan Africa

A leading global Services Company in the Oil and Gas and extended Energy industries seeks a Regional General Manager for Europe/Eurasia/Sub-Saharan Africa (EESSA). In this executive role, you will manage the revenue growth, operational performance, profitability and customer satisfaction across the region for the Company’s technologies/product line. Senior level applicants invited with 15+ years in technology driven organisations, preferably in the Oil and Gas or Energy industries, strong background in enterprise sales and experience working in the EESSA region. The role is open to all nationalities and there is a preference to work from the London office but the Company is open to applicants from Europe (e.g. Paris, Netherlands, Italy, Cypress, Romania..)

Supported by global offices, the Company has been at the forefront of leading technology advancements for nearly three decades. They cover the entire upstream oil cycle – from finding hydrocarbons to evaluating the prospects, building the wells, and managing and optimising the production process. In recent years, the Company has deployed their main point technologies to Cloud based web solutions, and are one a few to deliver an online environment for clients to optimize their exploration and appraisal lifecycle across global teams.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the VP for EESSA and under broad direction, your primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Provide overall leadership and direction across the region to deliver enterprise architecture solutions that enable high value deliverables from big data analytics and digitalization of business processes.
  • Devise, implement and monitor the strategic plans for the region.
  • Take full responsibility for the P&L for the region.
  • Manage/Monitor all aspects of the revenue growth and forecasting.
  • Work closely with the Sales and Business Development Teams to drive new and repeat business sales and deliver revenue growth and profitability.
  • Lead a large, dispersed and diverse team that engages a broad range of clients including International Oil Companies, National Oil Companies, Independents and consultancies.
  • Manage operational performance/excellence – required to win and implement complex technology and service solutions and to exceed customer satisfaction targets.
  • Develop and manage the annual business plan.
  • Set the standards of excellence required to deliver leading technologies, services, awareness and reputation. Work collaboratively with the regional management team to achieve and exceed targets.
  • Take responsibility for regional workforce planning - identifying competency requirements and associated training to establish a strong regional sales and services team.
  • Work closely with Sales/Marketing groups to establish the Company’s software and services status as the number one provider of technology solutions in the region for the Oil and Gas and wider Energy Industries.
  • Drive 3rd party relationships to deliver large enterprise solutions to major oil operators.
  • Build good working relationships with your peers and senior management across the wider company matrix organization.
  • Keep abreast of new oilfield technologies and digital solutions in the market – become competent discussing these with peers and clients with the ability and confidence to highlight advantages of the Company’s solutions.
  • Create a culture for sharing knowledge and driving excellence.
  • Be highly proactive in the region – attending leading events, participating at senior level meetings, driving discussion at company, national and regional levels….
  • Travel across the region as required.

This is an exciting multi-faceted role, offering a great deal of autonomy and scope to influence Company direction and service offerings in the new global Energy Transition phase. The role also offers the potential opportunity to take on a more global position at head-office.
