Aubin Group achieves Fit 4 Offshore Renewables ‘granted’ status

13/05/2022

Aubin Group is delighted to announce that it has achieved Fit 4 Offshore Renewables (F4OR) ‘granted’ status from ORE, the UK’s leading technology innovation and research centre for the offshore renewable energy sector.

This is a unique programme designed to help businesses enter and thrive in the renewable energy space, supporting the development of an increasingly competent, capable and competitive UK supply chain within this sector.

By achieving this status, Aubin Group has proven that it has the relevant knowledge, capabilities and competencies to do effective business within the renewable energy sector. The systems, processes and knowledge were shown to be deeply embedded within the organisation.

Driven by Emilia Davis, Business Development Executive at Aubin, and with extensive support from the wider team, Aubin has officially passed the programme - and gained a huge amount of value throughout the process. Katy Gifford, CEO of Aubin Group, has shared an overview of how Aubin has benefited from this programme already, and how it is helping Aubin become even more established in the renewables sector…

Business excellence

“The business excellence part of the programme encouraged our team to focus on areas which had slightly fallen by the wayside during the Covid years. We refreshed our strategy and rolled this revised plan out to our staff. This was well received and, as always, the team gave us some constructive feedback.

“The business excellence part of the programme encouraged our team to focus on areas which had been slightly neglected as we worked remotely through the pandemic. We refreshed our strategy and rolled this revised plan out to our staff. This was well received and, as always, the team gave us some constructive feedback.

“We also took the opportunity to streamline some processes which were no longer fit for purpose due to the implementation of SAP and some organisational changes. Having a knowledgeable third party challenge our processes was very helpful.”

Sector specific insights and knowledge

“When we entered the F4OR process, we knew that our products had a place in the world of offshore renewables, but we were unclear of the supply chain landscape and which areas might present the best opportunities for us. We also had limited knowledge of all the players and who would ultimately buy our products.

“During the programme, we have successfully identified the key areas where we are most likely to be successful, and by encouraging as many members of staff as possible to participate in the webinars, we now have a much more knowledgeable and focused team.

“We have formed significant relationships with members of our cohort and beyond, and we now have a clear way forward. We have also been able to switch off some activities where customer feedback showed us we were unlikely to be able to be successful. This is very valuable when you are entering a new market.”
