01/07/2022

Clough has signed a partnership with Pride in Diversity to develop expert awareness training and mentoring for all employees as part of its commitment to build a truly inclusive workplace and culture that support all people.

The training program will include LGBTIQ+ Awareness Training, LGBTIQ+ Ally Training, specific awareness sessions for various leaders and functions in the business, and mentoring opportunities.

Pride in Diversity is Australia’s first and only national not-for-profit employer support program for all aspects of LGBTIQ+ workplace inclusion.

Peter Bennett, Clough CEO and Managing Director said:
“As an industry, our commitments to diversity an inclusion must run deeper than the words in our policies and procedures if we are to achieve our aspirations, we must take action in our workplaces. Clough has been working with Pride in Diversity on this important initiative for quite some time now, and I am committed to ensuring we grow on our commitments as a business to make sure that our current and future LGBTIQ+ employees feel they’re safe and included in our culture.”

Alyce Schotte, Pride in Diversity Relationship Manager for Clough said:
“Partnerships such as this are a building block for change, the fact that this is now in place we get to bring our years of experience in inclusion to Clough with tools and training capacities. Getting Diversity & Inclusion right works for all LGBTQ employees and allies. This initiative is a real commitment from leadership to all Clough people current and future to provide an understanding and safe workplace”

Pride in Diversity are specialists in HR, organisational change and workplace diversity dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of LGBTIQ+ people by reducing exclusion, invisibility, homophobia and stigma in the workplace.

Research from the organisation shows that more than one in four transgender people have lost a job due to bias, and more than three quarters have experienced some form of workplace discrimination.
