C&C Reservoirs has recently released some exciting new features to the Digital Analogue Knowledge System (DAKS). These changes will enable DAKS users to assess Carbon Storage and Utilization (CSU) and conduct portfolio analysis of global EOR techniques.
These changes include:
- New Carbon Storage & Utilization (CSU) templates
- New Carbon Storage & Utilization (CSU) parameter
- New Seal Strength Index (SSI) parameter
- DAKS Portfolio Tool now available within the DAKS EOR Module
Enabling Assessment of Carbon Storage and Utilization (CSU)
New Carbon Storage and Utilization (CSU) Templates
The new CSU templates allows users to highlight parameters essential for CSU. DAKS subscribers will have access to these new templates within the Search Panel, Input Tool, Characterization Tool, and Benchmarking Tool. This will enable companies to conduct standardized analytics and benchmarking of their own CSU projects.
New Parameter: Seal Strength Index (SSI)
An innovative new parameter has been created which assigns a numerical value for a seal’s ability to prevent fluids (hydrocarbon or CO2) from migrating beyond the reservoir. The SSI parameter will allow users to gain insight into the minimum strength required of a sealing formation to retain the effective buoyancy pressure of a corresponding fluid accumulation. The SSI parameter can also be used to characterize and benchmark the seal integrity of a reservoir in a defined trap geometry with a given seal lithology.
New Parameter: Carbon Storage & Utilization (CSU)
A new parameter “Carbon Storage & Utilization (CSU)” has been created to identify reservoirs more appropriately in which CO2 was injected for gas storage, IR/EOR, or a combination of both. The new parameter helps to quickly identify reservoirs within DAKS that have direct knowledge of the practices and considerations when injecting CO2.
DAKS Portfolio Tool Now Available Within The EOR Module
The Portfolio Tool is now available within the EOR module making it even easier for companies to benchmark their assets against global analogues. It has wide application wherever measurable, repeatable analysis of EOR and CCUS projects is required, and is designed to test parameter sensitivity for direct input to corporate portfolio management workflows.
