Shearwater GeoServices announces the donation of a significant number of licenses for Shearwater’s industry leading Reveal seismic processing and imaging software to Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), a Malaysian research university. Through this initiative graduate and undergraduate students will be able to conduct research, and learn, using world-class advanced geophysical tools.

The Reveal licenses, with a value in excess of US$1M, have been provided for use on UTP Postgraduate (MSc and PhD) dissertation and research projects. UTP also plans to introduce the software as a teaching tool on its MSc Petroleum Geoscience course later in the year.

Professor Ts. Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib, Vice Chancellor of UTP, said:
“The donation of this software will be of great benefit to students focussed on sub-surface geophysics, both at graduate and undergraduate level. By having software that is widely used by major international energy companies, yet easy to learn and customise, students will be well prepared for conducting advanced geophysical work into the future.”

Reveal software enables time and depth processing and imaging for marine towed streamer, OBS and land environments within a single user interface.
