New energy consultants identify savings of £4.5m in first month

20/10/2022

A new energy consultancy firm based in County Durham is supporting businesses to save thousands by becoming more energy efficient and helping them to achieve Net Zero.

Since launching in September, Intelligent Energy Management 360 (iEM360), based in Consett, has already identified savings of up to £4.5m – the equivalent of 2,500 carbon tonnes working across 34 energy efficiency projects for businesses.

One of the companies to benefit from iEM360’s service is a poultry farm based in Yorkshire, who is set to save an estimated £144K over the next three years while reducing considerable carbon emissions.

Although plans to tackle rising energy prices is a key component in the government’s manifesto, bosses at the firm said more needs to be done to push suppliers to explore what can be done to address energy inefficiency.

The company supports businesses of all sizes and sectors to identify how they can reach Net Zero, become more energy efficient and save money on energy bills. Following investment from The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), they also provide support with funding and finance plans so there is no capital outlay for businesses who are already faced with rising energy prices.

The company has developed its own ‘Desktop Energy Optimisation Report’ (DEOR) software, providing businesses with a free holistic 360-degree view of their current energy related costs and helps to identify where any energy savings can be made.

Chris Charlton, CEO at iEM360, said:
“We are proud to support our customers not only to identify how they can transition to Net Zero, but to achieve significant energy savings across their business operations.

“We only launched last month and through our innovative approach, we have already helped to identify savings of £4.5m across a range of projects, saving 2,500 carbon tonnes and we’ve only just scratched the surface.

“We believe our offer is truly unique and with support from BEIS, we can support finance and manage all projects, offering insurance backed guaranteed savings with no debt and zero upfront capital outlay.”
