PDL appoints new business development role for renewable energy sector

PDL Group have announced that their Principal Engineer Elizabeth Waterman has been appointed to a technical role heading up the business development in the Renewable Energy Sector for the Vulcain group of companies including PDL Group, InSite Technical Services and Vulcain Engineering – UK. This new position will enable the UK group companies to broaden their offering and further support their clients to deliver complex engineering projects in this growing industry, especially offshore wind markets. The parent company, Vulcain Engineering is already an established and trusted partner to the Wind Energy sector, providing innovative solutions and dynamic services for nearly eight years and is currently active in all of France’s wind farm developments. All activities will support the group aim, to drive innovation to accelerate the energy transition to reach a sustainable future and net-zero. 

Waterman successfully gained full Chartership and membership of the IMechE whilst at PDL where she pioneered the development of advanced finite element analysis (FEA) methodologies, and was pivotal in the mentoring of engineers through PDL’s monitored professional development scheme. She has also been recognised as one of the top 50 Influential Women in Engineering and was a trailblazer on the first BVAA Future Leaders Programme establishing her as an inspiration and advocate for women working in engineering. Waterman will build on her extensive engineering experience and specialist technical expertise to connect and deliver solutions to clients in the Renewable Energy sector.
