HRH Geology Training Opportunities

24/11/2022

Wellsite Geological Operations
Date: 6 December 2022 - 9 December 2022

Wellsite Geological Operations provides an overview of the role of the geologist at the wellsite during drilling operations. The course is structured in two modules that run consecutively. The first is based on the Introduction to Drilling course and is recommended for Operator company staff geologists who may be assigned to act as Wellsite Geologist but have not yet gained any wellsite experience. This part of the course is unnecessary for mud loggers or other persons with drilling experience who are transiting to the Wellsite Geologist role. Persons in this category would join the course for the second module that runs on days 3 and 4 of the course.

Managing Geological Operations
Date
: 13 December 2022 - 15 December 2022

Managing Geological Operations examines the role of the Operations Geologist working in the Operator office and supervising the geological aspects of drilling a borehole. The course is split into three phases: Before Drilling, During Drilling and Post-Drilling duties. Before drilling is concerned with writing the Geological Programme for the well and also closely examines the tendering process for obtaining the various specialist services required by the well. During drilling deals with reports including the Daily Drilling Report, and the decisions required from the Operations Geologist Finally the Post drilling phase focusses on the deliverables from the Operations Geologist – the Composite Log and the Final Well report.
