14/12/2022

A young engineer at global completions specialist Tendeka has been recognised for her outstanding service to the industry.

Anna Petitt, Tendeka’s UK sales manager, was selected to receive the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) 2022 Regional Young Professional Member Outstanding Service Award for the North Sea region.

The award was acknowledgement of her outstanding contribution and leadership to the public and the community as well as her commitment to SPE and the wider the petroleum engineering profession.

A member of SPE since entering the industry, Anna first volunteered in the Young Professionals Committee where she was involved in the Beyond the Borders initiative. Anna then took on the role of Net Zero committee chair last year. She has been active in promoting energy sustainability, CCUS and the challenges of a net zero industry through a series of talks and seminars organised with her committee.

Anna said:
“It’s a huge privilege to be acknowledged for my commitment to SPE. I have been a member for nine years and I was delighted to be asked to chair the newly formed Net Zero Committee as it ties in well with my interests and it is vital as our industry is evolving. We are an essential part of the energy transition; there will be plenty of challenges, but we have the skills and expertise to get there.”

Karianne Amundsen, Tendeka's Scandinavia Area Manager added:
“Graduating with Distinction in Oil and Gas Engineering last year, Anna`s MSc thesis on modelling inflow control devices to maintain CO2 in liquid form won the Energy Institute’s best MSc award. Her work and involvement have been valuable contribution to how we as a company can support the challenges of a net zero industry going forward. I’m really happy to see that her continuous engagement is recognised by the industry and the SPE community.”

Anna graduated with Distinction MSc in Oil and Gas Engineering from RGU last year. Her MSc thesis used the simulator to model flow control devices to maintain CO₂ in liquid form and won the Energy Institute’s best MSc competition.
