“For more than two years now, the Association has been a fierce advocate for Ukraine’s energy independence pushing to adopt European gas market standards. Together with state and local authorities, we will continue systemic deregulation and optimization of the fiscal policy. We will also work to improve conditions for land allocation for drilling purposes and raise transparency standards. We need to create conditions that would attract foreign investors. Together, we can make Ukraine’s energy independence a reality”, said Vadym Pozharskyi.

Since April 2014, Vadym Pozharskyi has been serving as the Adviser to the Board of Directors and Director for International Cooperation and Strategic Development at Burisma Group. He is in charge of the Group’s GR & PR block.  Prior to his appointment, he worked for 4 years in the public sector, inter alia, on positions of the Head of the International Relations Department at the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine and the Deputy Head of the State Environmental Investment Agency of Ukraine.

Vadym Pozharskyi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of East Anglia (Norwich, UK) and a Master’s degree in European Law from Leiden University (Leiden, the Netherlands).

“Increasing domestic production, thus, making the country more energy self-sufficient and independent is a strategic priority for the state. And we can already see a number of positive changes happening. At the same time, the lack of auctions for new areas still remains a big problem for the industry. We believe that the state should come up with a large-scale program on E&P license allocation. This would allow to increase domestic gas production and attract both foreign investors and latest technologies”, added the Association’s Executive Director Roman Opimakh.
