OEUK Exploration & Subsurface Conference

12/03/2023

Date: Tues, 25 April 2023
Time: 9:00 am
Location: Business Design Centre, 52 Upper Street, London, N1 0QH

The UK continues to develop renewable energy resources, but access to reliable oil and gas resources remains critical to our energy security. To reduce our reliance on imported fossil fuels, we need to continue to replenish our country’s own resource through exploration.

Geoscience and understanding the subsurface is the key to our current and future energy requirements and storage solutions. By learning from the past, the UK will have a greater chance of delivering future energy and storage opportunities.

Ongoing exploration for oil and gas is essential to ensure we manage resources and avoid the UK dramatically increasing its reliance on imported energy which has no benefit to jobs or taxes paid – nor control over carbon emissions.

This was recognised in the UK Government’s Energy Security Strategy and OEUK’s Exploration & Subsurface Conference this year will examine how the sector can deliver the dual objective of achieving net zero emissions by 2050, alongside maximising economic recovery of oil and gas from the UKCS.

This annual event offers an invaluable chance for both industry novices and specialists to focus on the new challenges and unique opportunities facing the exploration sector as it continues to serve UK energy demand while progressing towards its ambitious emissions reduction targets.

The OEUK Exploration & Subsurface Conference will run alongside BEOS, organised by AAPG and PESGB. All delegates will have full access to the BEOS exhibition along with joint coffee breaks, lunches and an evening networking reception.

BEOS will take place 25 – 26 April, OEUK conference delegates will be eligible for a special second day pass for the BEOS event.
