VALOREM partners with Enercoop to provide green electricity directly to consumers

21/03/2023

After the commissioning of the Saint-Secondin wind farm in Vienne last September, VALOREM, an independent green energy operator, announces that it has signed an electricity sales contract with Enercoop, a cooperative supplier of renewable energy. This contract will make it possible to supply Enercoop customers with renewable and short circuit electricity. The park will produce 31 GWh per year, the equivalent of the consumption of 6,800 households corresponding to 7% of the residential electricity consumption of a city like Poitiers. The inauguration is scheduled for July 6, 2023 in the presence of local elected officials.

A SHORT AND DIRECT CIRCUIT OF RENEWABLE ELECTRICITY

For VALOREM, the development of renewable energies is a concrete opportunity to promote rural areas. With this 20-month partnership, VALOREM and Enercoop are participating in the energy transition of the Vienne region by bringing producers closer to consumers. In concrete terms, 100% of the electricity produced by the park's 4 wind turbines is sold to Enercoop, which will supply its customers with renewable electricity.

This contract is made possible thanks to the regulatory changes introduced by the State in the second half of 2022 to allow renewable energy projects to offset the increase in the price of raw materials and interest rates. Thus, Saint-Secondin, a park benefiting from additional open window remuneration ("CR17") is eligible for the "18-month" delay in the deadline for completion and sale of its production excluding additional remuneration before its activation. (also called “market sale”)

ENERCOOP AND VALOREM: A HISTORIC COLLABORATION THAT ADAPTS TO THE REGULATORY AND ECONOMIC CONTEXT

Partners since 2018, VALOREM and Enercoop thus set up their 6th contract for the sale and purchase of electricity. The latest, signed in December 2020, is that of the La Tour Blanche agrivoltaic park located in the Dordogne. It was one of the first large photovoltaic parks to sell its electricity without any additional remuneration or purchase obligation in France, for a period of 30 years and based on a fixed remuneration.

This new partnership confirms the desire of the two players to innovate together. This type of contract makes it possible to explore new ways of contractualizing thanks to new territorial green energy projects while adapting to the changing regulatory context, with regard to the law relating to the acceleration and simplification of renewable energies.

Bertrand Guidez, Deputy Managing Director of VALOREM:
“We are proud to provide Viennese consumers with 100% green electricity supplied by Enercoop. This new collaboration is part of a common desire: to work for an energy transition as close as possible to the territories. This contract is a reflection of the flexibility that the teams of VALOREM and Enercoop have demonstrated on a daily basis to manage the contracts for the sale of the production of the parks in a volatile economic and regulatory environment."

Olivier Soufflot Deputy CEO of Enercoop:
“Our supply of green and local electricity is a source of pride for us. Indeed, being able to supply our members and our consumers in a short circuit thanks to the Saint-Secondin wind farm factually demonstrates our commitment to the territorial energy transition."
