Seajacks Appoints Sebastian Brooke as New CEO

12/06/2023

Seajacks UK, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eneti, has appointed Mr Sebastian Brooke as CEO with immediate effect.

CEO of Seajacks, Mr Blair Ainslie, has decided to retire after 17 years with the Company. Mr Brooke co-founded Seajacks with Mr Ainslie in 2007 and has most recently worked alongside him as COO.

Mr Ainslie will remain with Seajacks until the end of 2023 to support and advise Mr Brooke in his new role, whereupon it is his intention to retire.  Mr Ainslie is expected to be available post 2023 to support Seajacks in a consultancy capacity.

Blair Ainslie, Seajacks retiring CEO, says:
“After 17 years at the Seajacks helm, and with an ever-expanding brood of grandchildren, I feel that now is the opportune time to step aside. I am pleased that my longstanding colleague, Sebastian Brooke, will be taking over from me as CEO. Under his guidance and leadership and the continued loyalty and support from the Seajacks team, I am confident that the Company will continue to flourish and prosper. ”

Sebastian Brooke, Seajacks new CEO, says:
“I look forward to continuing the journey with my colleagues, as the Company continues to evolve with the offshore wind market.  It is an exciting time in the industry and as a result of the hard work and efforts of our offshore and onshore staff, we are well-positioned to benefit from the increasing activity across all areas of offshore operations.

My sincere thanks go to Blair for everything he has achieved since we first met and ‘joined forces’ in 2007; we shall continue working together for the remainder of 2023 and perhaps we can persuade him to stay in some capacity into 2024 and beyond.”

Sebastian Brooke
Mr Brooke holds a BA from the University of Newcastle and has significant experience of the offshore industry. Mr Brooke was the Commercial Director of Seajacks from 2009 to 2017. Mr Brooke worked for Bassoe Offshore from 2001 to 2009, during which time he became a co-founder of offshore service companies including Seajacks, Floatel International and Atlantica Drilling. Prior to working for Bassoe Offshore, Mr Brooke worked offshore for Marine Drilling and Computalog Wireline Services in the USA.
