Oilenco Announce Key Appointment

16/06/2023

Aberdeen based Oilenco Ltd today announced the appointment of Davie Nicoll, who has joined the company as Business Development Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). David, known to his network as Davie, joins Oilenco at a pivotal time for the company, as it reinforces its focus on overseas well intervention markets.

Bringing 25 years’ experience to the company, Davie has built a successful career in the global oil and gas industry, with over 16 years working across a variety of downhole intervention roles, most recently managing the intervention business in SSA for a leading well intervention company.

Davie comments,
“I’ve spent the last 9 years travelling all over SSA learning about this market. As a leader in well intervention and abandonment within the UK, Oilenco are uniquely positioned to deliver best-in-class solutions that are ideally suited to the SSA market. With the ability to design, manufacture and test bespoke tooling within their own facility, as well as their extensive rental fleet, they are ideally suited to meeting the needs of customers in the SSA region.”

In his role, Davie will be responsible for bringing Oilenco products and solutions to this evolving market, developing the Oilenco brand in the sub-saharan region and establishing Oilenco as the provider of choice for downhole tool solutions.

Blair McCombie, Operations Director, Oilenco Ltd says,
“In order to deliver Oilenco’s international growth strategy, it was essential that we expanded the business development team and recruited someone who not only has extensive knowledge specifically of the sub-saharan region, but someone who can deliver the highest level of service to our clients. Davie captures the essence of our strategic direction, and with the relationships he has with key client targets, we are delighted he is joining our team and we look forward to supporting many clients in SSA with Oilenco products to assist their intervention workscopes.”

Davie will be making his debut as Business Development Manager for Oilenco in Accra, Ghana, exhibiting at the Offshore Well Intervention West Africa Conference on 20th and 21st June, as well as visiting clients whilst in country. He adds: “I’m delighted to be joining such an innovative team, at an exciting time for the company. With a real focus on growth not only in Africa, but in other regions, I look forward to bringing Oilenco's reputation as a first-class downhole tooling provider to the market.”
