Summit Energy Evolution Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation, are pleased to announce the appointment of Andy Samuel CBE, as a strategic advisor to the board of directors. Andy will bring his knowledge, strategic thinking and coaching abilities both to the board of SEEL and the executive management of Sumitomo Corporation Europe Ltd as we seek to expand our Energy Transition businesses.

Andy retired as Chief Executive of the North Sea Transition Authority at the end of 2022 and has a long track record in executive management and strategic thinking in the Oil and Gas and Energy Transition industries.

Andy was appointed as Chief Executive of the Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) in January 2015 with the remit initially to Maximise Economic Recovery of the UK’s oil and gas resources. He successfully set up the organisation and through collaborative working with industry and government steered the OGA strategy to encompass Net Zero and the Energy Transition resulting in the re-purposing of the organisation as the North Sea Transition Authority.

Prior to the OGA, Andy held a variety of executive and leadership roles at BG Group for 20 years, including Managing Director Europe, Exploration and Production. Andy holds a BA in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University and a PhD from London University and is an accredited coach through Meyler Campbell Mastered executive coaching.
