Clarksons Offshore & Renewables opens new Edinburgh office

06/07/2023

Clarkson Offshore & Renewables is delighted to announce the opening of its first Edinburgh office to serve as a hub for Clarksons’ Renewables division in Scotland, catering to the specific needs of the renewables offshore construction industry.

The Edinburgh office will offer a range of services, including offshore construction consultancy, vessel intelligence, newbuilding, project ship broking, finance and management support. By leveraging the team’s significant expertise and experience, Clarksons aims to enhance the efficiency, reliability and scalability of its clients’ renewable energy projects from pre-FEED stages all the way to project execution.

Paul Love, MD of Clarksons Offshore & Renewables, commented:
"We are thrilled to be opening our new office in Edinburgh. Scotland has emerged as a global leader in renewable energy and our goal is to provide comprehensive support to both existing and upcoming renewable projects, facilitating the transition to a greener future. As the renewable energy sector continues to gain momentum, opening our new office in Edinburgh signals our strong commitment to supporting the industry's growth, on both a local and global scale."

A dedicated team of experts will work from Edinburgh, led by Transport and Installation Manager Olivier Candeel, who has significant knowledge of the complexities of offshore renewable energy projects and services required to support the development and installation of offshore wind farms.

Boasting a strong renewable energy industry and a highly skilled workforce, Edinburgh serves as an ideal base for Clarksons to collaborate with local stakeholders, including government bodies, research institutions, and industry partners. As a global market leader in the offshore renewables space, Clarksons’ move into the Scottish capital complements its intention to provide comprehensive support to the flourishing renewables market in Scotland and beyond.

Olivier Candeel, Transport and Installation Manager, said:
"I am excited to be on the doorstep of many existing and new clients enabling me to lead and expand our Edinburgh team. With the urgent need for sustainable energy solutions and the growing global demand for renewables, we recognise the immense potential held by the Scottish market. By establishing a strong presence in Edinburgh, we are well positioned to support the development of the region's rich renewable resources and contribute to the country's ambitious green energy targets."
