With capital equipment sales topping £14 million and sales and servicing business accounting for £7 million, the Aberdeenshire-based company has seen the Middle East, North America and Europe key in taking 96% of its total business to international markets.

EnerQuip currently employs 110 people across its global operations, including UK bases near Aberdeen and at Lybster, Caithness and that is expected to rise by up to 15% in 2024 as additional staff are recruited to fulfil ongoing growth ambitions.

These include harnessing the potential of the recently expanded global HQ at Findon on the outskirts of Aberdeen, plans to relocate to larger premises in Houston and the realisation of plans to establish a permanent presence in the Middle East. Some £750,000 has been ploughed into uplevelling activities in the region including the recent opening of a 1500 sq. ft. facility in Abu Dhabi and the imminent move of Global Head of Sales, Darren Bragg, to oversee operations as Regional General Manager for the Middle East.

The news that 2023 has broken the records comes as the specialist company marks the milestone 35th anniversary of a product line which remains woven through the global leader’s corporate DNA. The story began 35 years ago with the inception of AMC Engineering Ltd in Aberdeen, UK by Alec McCutcheon. Fast forward to 2011 and having been under the stewardship of Caithness-born businessman, Andrew Polson following a management buyout in 2006, the company was then sold to Forum Energy Technologies in 2011. The story then went full-circle last year when EnerQuip acquired the AMC product line from Forum Energy Technologies.

Global Sales & Business Development Manager Darren Bragg said:
“Our innovative Mobile Torque Unit (MTU) continues to form the centrepiece of our growing portfolio and when technology of this calibre is backed by the quality of people we have on our growing team, the result speaks for itself.”

EnerQuip Managing Director Andrew Robins added:
“By working hard to maximise growth in key locations we have been able to capitalise on fulfilling pent-up demand for equipment post-pandemic, enabling our business to flourish and record our best year so far.”
