Serica Energy are providing financial support for the MATE ROV COMPETITION regional competition run by Robert Gordon University and would urge other companies to consider supporting this great initiative. It's a fantastic opportunity for pupils to design and build their own Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) used for underwater observation. The winners of the regional competition have the opportunity to go to the USA for the finals for an experience they won't forget!

Serica has been actively involved with the MATE ROV Competition for a number of years, providing volunteer time to mentor teams, mark technical papers and judge in regional finals.

Chris Kay, Serica's Education Committee Chair says:
"This year, we are proud to be able to commit financial funding to support the competition as we have seen first hand the invaluable experience it gives students across the Northeast to get involved and learn more about STEM in a practical and fun way. We would encourage anyone in the industry to get involved if they can.”
