RPS’ Deal Advisory team supports KKR’s USD$750m investment in Zenobē

RPS plays role in one of the most-anticipated energy transition deals in Europe

RPS’ Deal Advisory team has provided technical due diligence services for leading global investment firm KKR’s investment in Zenobē.

Alongside existing shareholder Infracapital, KKR is reported to be investing significantly to scale Zenobē across two of the largest decarbonisation market opportunities in infrastructure – fleet electrification, and battery storage solutions.

RPS’ Deal Advisory Director, Nick Turton, says it was fantastic to play a role in one of the most-anticipated energy transition deals in Europe.

“To support KKR in its new partnership with Infracapital and Zenobē, we applied our global network of technical, operational and commercial advisers from the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and the United States and we drew on their extensive experience in the relevant energy markets.”

KKR’s investment in Zenobē is its first through its global climate strategy, which is dedicated to scaling net-zero solutions and transitioning higher emitting assets.

UK-based Zenobē offers end-to-end solutions for fleet electrification, award-winning software, large-scale battery storage and second-life batteries.

Nick says the investment should enable Zenobē to expand its operations in North America, Australia, and New Zealand to accelerate the global decarbonisation of fossil-fuel fleets, and to provide grid services that are critical to support the decarbonisation of the energy sector.

“This investment is an important energy transition one, which will help provide grid and storage solutions as countries work to achieve net zero targets.”

The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals.
