Amplus Extend Agreement to Support University of Aberdeen Students

08/04/2024

Aberdeen-based Amplus Energy has extended its partnership with KeyFacts Energy to continue supporting students and staff at the University of Aberdeen with sponsored access to valuable energy sector resources, news and information.

In response to the challenge of recruiting new talent into the energy sector, KeyFacts Energy has created an opportunity for companies to help students gain a valuable insight into the industry from a global perspective. The scheme offers graduates an important insight into the oil and gas and renewable sectors and promotes awareness of the global energy industry among the next generation of geoscientists and engineers. The initiative also offers the sponsoring company a chance to raise its profile within the all-important graduate market.

Feedback suggests that although well-qualified and technically proficient when leaving university, post-graduate students often have limited knowledge about the industry they are joining. Regular access to KeyFacts Energy provides a well-rounded and ongoing overview of companies, news, and key operational data together with an opportunity to identify and research potential employers.

Headquartered in the Granite City, Amplus Energy is a pivotal partner in field development and floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) operations, and recently announced it had invested a seven-figure sum in Norwegian company Carbon Circle AS to create Carbon Circle UK Limited.

Ian Herd, Executive Director at Amplus Energy said:
"Continued success in the energy sector means supporting students with the tools and resources to help them introduce exciting new ideas to this industry and become its future leaders. Amplus Energy is proud to continue our support of the University of Aberdeen’s Department of Geology and Petroleum Geology through the extension of our agreement with KeyFacts Energy."

Chris Pettit, Managing Director at KeyFacts Energy added:
"We are very pleased that Amplus Energy has agreed to continue its sponsored access for students and staff at the University of Aberdeen for another year and much appreciate the support from Executive Director and founder, Ian Herd.”
