A leading North east industrial, safety and risk management firm has doubled turnover and expanded its Aberdeenshire-based team.
Safewell helps companies manage ‘invisible’ safety risks in the compressed air and automation world. It works closely with a diverse range of clients in sectors including energy, commercial diving, pharma, defence, industrial and healthcare. In the year to June 2024, the company’s turnover reached £1.35 million – more than double the figure for the year to June 2022.
Established in 2005 by Founder and Managing Director, Ed Gardyne, Safewell is headquartered in Banchory, Aberdeenshire. A five-year tactical plan implemented in 2021 focuses on key business areas namely growth, staff, technology and finance. Other recent milestones have included the move of Safewell’s traditional paper-based job system to a cloud-based package; a raft of workshop improvements including a new pallet stacking system and the creation of an in-house calibration department.
Key appointments to bolster the team have so far included David Kane who took up the newly created role of Engineering and Technical Manager, with further appointments anticipated in early 2025.
Commenting on recent successes Sophia Siwek, Safewell’s Operations Manager said:
“Over the past three years we have achieved several important milestones, hit targets and pushed ourselves to drive forward change.
“I’m excited to see what the future holds for our team, particularly with the adoption of new technology and widening our reach in current sectors and new geographies.”
