Equinor ASA is launching its first Hydrogen Open Season, calling on parties to express their interest in low carbon hydrogen from H2M Eemshaven in the Netherlands, from 02 December 2024 to 31 January 2025.
Equinor maintains its ambition to advance the production of low-carbon hydrogen and to develop low carbon hydrogen value chains in North-West Europe. The H2M Eemshaven project is a collaboration with Linde and builds on the two companies’ combined industrial experience. The planned facility in Eemshaven will reform natural gas into low-carbon hydrogen with CO2 capture and storage. More than 95 percent of the CO2 will be captured and stored safely and permanently under the seabed offshore Norway.
Interested parties are invited to register their interest in securing low carbon hydrogen under a long-term supply and offtake agreement by using this registration form. The registration process is open until 31 January 2025.
Based on the information provided in the registration phase, Equinor will assess parties according to planned connectivity to the hydrogen grid and basic financial information and will prioritize parties with at least a minimum annual offtake of 50 MW. Qualifying parties will then be invited to participate in the next phase of the Open Season, where subject to a Non-Disclosure Agreement, Equinor will share detailed information on the offered product as well as contractual terms and delivery conditions.
