EirGrid Group has announced the appointment of Cathal Marley as its new Chief Executive Officer.​

Mr Marley joins EirGrid from Gas Networks Ireland, where he is currently Chief Executive, and brings with him over 20 years’ experience in the utilities and infrastructure sector across the electricity, gas and water industries.​

Commenting on Mr Marley’s appointment, the chairman of EirGrid plc, Brendan Tuohy, said:​

"Cathal brings to EirGrid considerable expertise and experience that will enable him to lead the organisation through unprecedented change as we secure the transition to renewable electricity and deliver a cleaner energy future.”​

 Speaking about his appointment, Mr Marley said:

Mr Marley will take up the role in early April 2025.​
