TROIS Geoconsulting and Partners Acquire AGG and Magnetic Survey Onshore Angola

21/06/2025

TROIS Geoconsulting and DDMS (Delta Development Management Services), in partnership with Xcalibur Smart Mapping and ANPG Angola, have recently acquired phase 1 of an airborne gravity gradiometry (AGG) and magnetic survey over the onshore Lower Congo Basin of Angola.

The survey, covering 4,050 sq.km, was acquired using Falcon® AGG (Airborne Gravity Gradiometry) system, jointly developed by Xcalibur Smart Mapping, BHP and Lockheed Martin. Falcon AGG was specifically designed to operate in the challenging dynamic airborne environment.

The Falcon AGG system has:

  • The highest resolution airborne gravity technology with 30 times better spatial resolution (100m vs. 3,000m)
  • The highest sensitivity airborne gravity technology with up to 10 times higher accuracy (0.1 mGal vs. 1.0 mGal)
  • Lowest noise level of any airborne gravity system
