With an order received in June, the Nordex Group scores again in Latvia: The Group is supplying and installing 21 N163/6.X turbines for the Pienava wind farm. Totalling 147 MW it is the largest wind project to date in the country. Developed by Eolus, one of the largest renewable energy solutions developers in Scandinavia, the project has been sold to Latvenergo, Latvia’s state-owned energy company.
After commissioning in March 2027, the Nordex Group will be responsible for the maintenance of the turbines as part of a maintenance contract with a term of 15 years.
The Pienava wind farm is being built in the municipality of Tukums, southwest of Riga. The turbines of the Delta4000 series will be delivered and installed from summer 2026 on 169 meters tubular steel towers in the cold climate version.
The Nordex Group only entered the Latvian market in 2024 with an initial order for 109 MW. Today, 300 MW are already under construction.
