Rezolv Energy Announces CfD Auction Success in Romania

13/08/2025

Actis-backed Rezolv Energy has been confirmed as one of the major winners in Romania’s second Contracts for Difference (CfD) auction, organised by the Ministry of Energy.

The successful bids total 731.2MW from two landmark projects:

  • Dunarea East (Constanța County) – where Rezolv’s was the winning wind energy bid. This 300MW wind farm will be joined by Dunarea West in due course.
  • Dama Solar (Arad County) – the 1,044MW project is set to be the largest solar park in Europe once operational.

This builds on Rezolv Energy's success in Romania’s first CfD auction, where their bid for 240MW of capacity from the VIFOR wind farm in Buzău County was also the winning wind energy bid.

Alastair Hammond, CEO of Rezolv Energy, said:
“The Romanian government deserves great credit for allocating more capacity in the second CfD auction, and for setting up the eligibility rules to facilitate support for very large-scale projects like Dama Solar and Dunarea East. It underscored the vital role that major wind farms and solar parks play in the energy transition – both environmentally and economically. The CfDs will enable us to move forward quickly into the construction phase at both projects.”

Korpanec, Jaroslava, Partner, Head of Central and Eastern Europe, Energy Infrastructure at Actis, said:
“This is great result for Rezolv Energy – winning three bids worth a combined 731.2MW. Rezolv Energy had already won a bid in Romania’s first ever CfD auction, so to build on that with three further wins is sign of the trust placed in Rezolv Energy and Actis to deliver as part of Romania’s clean energy future and a testament to the teams’ continuing hard work.”
