PetroStrat are delighted to share that Martha Gibson, one of their talented biostratigraphers and palynologists, presented at The Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition a few weeks ago.
Martha spoke to the public about palynology, the study of organic microfossils. She talked about its role in understanding life on Earth, climate change, and even the potential for life on Mars. Her sessions sparked great conversations, inspired plenty of future scientists, and showed how applied science connects across industries and disciplines.
Dr Martha Gibson is a palynologist at PetroStrat in North Wales and former Lindemann Trust Research Fellow with over 10 years’ experience. Palynology is a branch of palaeontology that deals with fossil pollen and plant spores, dinoflagellates, and other organic-bodies planktonic organisms.
The Royal Society is a Fellowship of many of the world's most eminent scientists and is the oldest scientific academy in continuous existence.
