First-time Deployment of New K.U.M. TIAMAT Ocean Bottom Node

01/09/2025

KUM's recently developed TIAMAT ocean bottom node system saw its first offshore deployment in the Baltic Sea. The test successfully demonstrated the systems easy handling and yield of premier quality seismic data. The highly modular seismic monitoring nodes are tailored to shallow shelf sea conditions, where bottom currents can be significant and the risk of displacement by fishing gear exists. The TIAMAT nodes can be operated autonomously or cabled for realtime data transmission to shore and constitute your ideal monitoring solution for offshore CCUS projects.

K.U.M. are grateful to the GEOMAR Helmholtz-Zentrum für Ozeanforschung Kiel Deep Sea Monitoring Group for for the opportunity of this first time deployment and for taking K.U.M. along on RV Alkor to the Baltic Sea.
