INEOS Announces Relocation of Headquarters from the UK

09/09/2025

INEOS, one of the world’s largest chemicals and energy companies, today announced its decision to relocate its corporate headquarters from the United Kingdom. The move reflects the company’s long-term strategic priorities and its commitment to strengthening its global operations in a rapidly evolving industrial landscape.

Chairman and CEO Sir Jim Ratcliffe stated,
“This decision was not taken lightly. The UK has been an important home for INEOS since its founding, but as we position ourselves for the future, we must ensure our business remains competitive on a global scale. Relocating our headquarters allows us to align more closely with markets where we see the strongest growth and investment opportunities.”

The company emphasized that while the headquarters will move abroad, INEOS will maintain a significant presence in the UK through its existing plants, refineries, and workforce. The decision will not affect day-to-day operations at its UK facilities, which remain critical to both domestic and European supply chains.

INEOS has recently expanded its portfolio with major investments in hydrogen, carbon capture, and advanced recycling technologies. The new headquarters location will enhance the company’s ability to accelerate these projects, attract international talent, and build new partnerships with governments and industries driving the transition to cleaner energy.

“We are grateful to our UK employees, communities, and partners for their continued dedication,” Ratcliffe added. “INEOS will continue to invest in the UK, even as our corporate center shifts internationally. Our roots are here, and we will ensure that this transition strengthens rather than diminishes our contribution.”

The transition of the headquarters will take place in phases over the next 12 to 18 months. INEOS will share additional updates as the process advances.
