RWE Wins at Global Offshore Wind Awards

16/10/2025

The Renewable UK Global Offshore Wind Awards celebrate those individuals and companies that continue to break boundaries in the offshore wind sector and lead the charge toward a net zero future. The annual event was held in London and supported by renewable industry leaders and employees.

This year, RWE is proud that the response of RWE’s Humber Gateway offshore vessels to the oil tanker crash in March 2025 in the North Sea, received a special recognition award. RWE colleagues at Humber Gateway supported emergency services earlier this year and helped rescue 36 crew members with professionalism and compassion. Several team members were in the audience to accept the award and celebrate the offshore wind industry's achievements, skills, and expertise, and received a standing ovation.

In addition, RWE offshore wind teams were presented with two awards:

Aurelia Pearson, Health, Safety and Environmental Apprentice for the Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm was awarded the much-coveted Apprentice of the year award.  This marks Aurelia’s second award, as earlier this year she was awarded apprentice of the year at the Humber Renewables Awards.

RWE and Siemens Gamesa were, together, successful in winning the Power through collaboration: Pioneering partnership award in recognition of the groundbreaking installation of recyclable wind turbine blades – a UK ‘first’ - at RWE’s Sofia Offshore Wind Farm which is currently under construction.

Sven Utermöhlen,  CEO of RWE Offshore Wind,
“We are incredibly proud to be recognised for our achievements in offshore wind — a testament to the vision, dedication, and expertise of our entire team. These awards reflect not only the strength of our projects, but the collective passion and commitment of our colleagues who are driving the transition to a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.”
