Çalık Petrol has secured a new exploration and production permit in Turkey’s Diyarbakır province. Specifically, the provincial authority granted Çalık the right to carry out a petroleum-exploration and extraction project within Gündiisa Mahallesi in the Bismil district. The decision included a “ÇED Gerekli Değildir” notice (i.e., no Environmental Impact Assessment required) for the planned “İsalı 3-4 Lokasyonu Petrol Arama” operation.
In November 2024, Çalık Petrol announced an investment of approximately 28 million TL to pursue petroleum exploration in the same region—Diyarbakır’s Bismil district—targeting the İsapınar 2-3-4 locations under the AR/PRT/K/M45-C licence. The project involves 22,000 m² land, planned seismic studies, and drilling of wells.
Additionally, in July 2025 the company reported that two of its exploration licences—one covering some 30,613 hectares in the Diyarbakır region, the other 61,268 hectares covering Adıyaman/Gaziantep border area—were officially extended by the relevant authority from 21 April 2025 to 21 April 2027.
