Aed Energy Wins at the 2025 Energy Storage Awards

22/11/2025

Aed Energy’s modular thermal battery technology

Aed Energy, the UK developer of next-generation thermal energy storage, has been awarded “Newcomer / Start-Up of the Year” at the 2025 Energy Storage Awards, recognising the company’s breakthrough progress and growing impact across the long-duration energy storage sector.

Aed Energy is pioneering a new class of high-temperature thermal storage that delivers reliable, low-cost heat and power using abundant materials and proprietary heat-to-electricity conversion. Developed in the UK and shaped by decades of combined experience in thermal systems, the technology is designed for grid-scale storage, industrial heat, renewable integration, and combined heat and power (CHP) applications across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.

Rayan Kassis, CEO of Aed Energy, commented:
“Aed Energy is honoured to receive this award. It reflects the strength of our technology and the dedication of our team and partners, as well as the communities we are working alongside across three continents. Long-duration thermal storage is an essential part of the clean energy future, and this recognition reinforces our belief that we are building something transformative that will make clean and reliable energy accessible to millions.”

The Energy Storage Awards celebrate innovation and leadership across global energy storage technologies, with the Newcomer / Start-Up of the Year category recognising early-stage organisations demonstrating strong technical progress and clear potential for large-scale industry impact.

Aed Energy extends its thanks to the Energy Storage Awards organisers and judges, and congratulates the other winners, and acknowledges the companies shortlisted alongside it. The company also recognises the continued contributions of its team and partners, whose work is helping accelerate the development of resilient, low-carbon energy systems worldwide.
