Wood Awarded CCS Development Concept Engineering Contract

15/12/2025

InCapture, operator of the GHG Assessment Permit G-15-AP, together with Joint Venture Partners SK earthon and Carbon CQ, has awarded the Development Concept Engineering phase of the G-15-AP Technical Assessment for Declaration of Storage Formation to Wood, a global leader in consulting and engineering solutions.

This work will be conducted alongside project partner Halliburton’s technical assessment of G-15-AP, to appraise high-potential storage structures across the study area. These high-graded opportunities will form the basis for the project’s next key regulatory milestone: the Declaration of Storage Formation.

The Development Concept Engineering work will focus on maturing the most viable storage concepts to Feasibility Stage, enabling the Joint Venture to progress toward investment decisions with confidence.

Julia Davies, Managing Director of InCapture, commented:
“Partnering with Wood brings world-class CCS engineering expertise to the G-15-AP project. Combined with Halliburton’s technical capabilities, this collaboration strengthens our ability to deliver a scalable, commercially viable solution that supports Australia’s net-zero ambitions and creates long-term value for stakeholders.”

Dan Carter, President of Consulting at Wood, said:
“This contract marks a significant milestone in advancing carbon capture and storage in Australia. Leveraging our deep CCS expertise, our team will evaluate and advise on viable storage concepts, enabling InCapture and the G-15-AP Joint Venture to move forward with confidence toward feasibility and investment decisions.”

The G-15-AP CCS project is strategically positioned to leverage Western Australia’s existing infrastructure and energy expertise, creating opportunities for future low-carbon hubs and reinforcing the region’s role in global decarbonisation efforts. This positions new industrial projects in Australia to proceed with assured low-carbon pathways, enabling measurable emissions reductions across hard-to-abate industries and de-risking investment through firm storage capacity and transparent performance baselines.
