DAKS™ EOR Content Release

16/12/2025

Discover 29 new and updated EOR Evaluation Reports from across the globe

Highlights Include:

Bechraji Field (India) – Fieldwide Application – Polymer Flood
Targeting 270 cP heavy oil, this polymer flood CEOR project is expected to achieve an incremental recovery of 5% STOIIP over 10 years. By January 2023, 11 patterns in the phase I area had been brought into the polymer flood. This project confirmed that polymer flood can improve the sweep efficiency in heavy oil reservoirs with a strong water drive. The progressive approach from laboratory experiments to pilots and finally to fieldwide application ensured smooth project progress.

Christina Lake Field (Canada) – MEG Phase 2 Project – Steam-Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD)
Expected to achieve an ultimate recovery factor of 48% and a low steam utilization of 2.4 BW-CWE/BO, this SAGD project targets the 1,000,000 cP extremely heavy oil. Extensive reservoir management measures including production enhancement program, enhanced modified steam and gas push (eMSAGP), and gas-cap repressurization all contributed to the success of this project.

Daqing (Saertu) Field (China) – N7 Block East Transitional Zone Pilot – Alkaline-Surfactant-Polymer (ASP) Flood
Expected to achieve an incremental recovery of 16% STOIIP, this successful project focused on a relatively poor-quality reservoir with poor fluid properties. Deliberate formulation and slug size optimization were essential for the success of the EOR process allowing hydraulic fracturing to improve the injection profile, and thus the sweeping efficiency.

Suplacu De Barcau Field (Romania) – Seven-Pattern Pilot – In-Situ Combustion
This thermal recovery EOR project targets 2000 cP heavy oil with an expected incremental recovery of 31.5% STOIIP and air utilization of 9.4 MCF/BO. Here, effective reservoir management measures such as acid treatment, injecting water into the tubing/casing annulus, and repeated high-viscosity mud injection helped address operational challenges.

Zarzaitine Field (Algeria) – IV Sector Pilot – Enriched Hydrocarbon WAG Miscible Flood
This miscible EOR project achieved an incremental recovery of 5.4% STOIIP along with a maximum water-cut drop of 8.3%. Gross gas utilization was 23.5 MCF/BO and individual well incremental EUR amounted to 13.2 MBO. Extensive laboratory tests were conducted for pilot justification, design, and optimization.
