An enduring leader in the drilling and well engineering industry brought its landmark 25th anniversary to a close by announcing plans to open an office in Namibia.
Following a four-month fact finding visit to the country and a significant uptick in requests for proposals, Aberdeen Drilling Management (ADM) together with partners, Future-Energy Partners FEP) and Teyshas Energy LLC intends to open an office from where it can create the network and infrastructure needed to strengthen its foothold in Namibia and the wider region.
The company plans to replicate the success of its foray into Guyana where a collaborative approach has created the Deepwater Development Consortium (DWDC) to maximise combined strengths, local insight, technical prowess and global operational capability to provide significant advantages in pursuing future opportunities.
Aberdeen Drilling Management (ADM) was founded in 2000 and has carved a strong reputation for excellence, innovation and safety. From modest start-up to globally respected leader in its field, the company’s journey has been driven by staying ahead of industry trends and technological advancements in the drilling and well engineering sector.
From decision and risk management, project/operational management and support to technical mentoring, competency coaching and expert witness services, the 5-strong core team supports client goals of reducing risk and achieving optimum results across their well, subsurface related issues and operations, utilising its extensive associate and industry network, with successful projects completed around the globe.

Commenting on the news DWDC Associate and energy, policy and strategy advisor Tony Paul, whose career spans 40 years in the petroleum and mining sectors, said:
“There is a lot happening in Namibia right now so having a physical presence is ideal for building local capacity and transferring knowledge.
These are fundamental requirements of doing business in Namibia's oil and gas industry, getting in front of people to have those all-important discussions: this approach provided the foundation for transforming Aberdeen into a global hub of oil and gas services.
“Namibia aspires to be a major energy hub for Africa and, within that, a desire to be a hydrogen hub. Hydrocarbon technology will help to accelerate learning and progress in, for example, the mining related sector to explore opportunities such as white hydrogen. We are excited to be playing a part in that, and to bringing experience from the North Sea to this growing international market.”
