Shearwater GeoServices announces the successful completion of this season's multi‑client 3D seismic acquisition campaign in Brazil's Pelotas Basin, delivered through the continued collaboration between Shearwater and Searcher.

This marks the conclusion of the third acquisition season. 

Phase Three contributed an additional 7,500 km² of high-quality 3D data, building on the 9,500 km² previously acquired — bringing the total regional multi-client library to over 17,000 km² of wide-tow 3D seismic coverage. 

All acquisition was carried out by SW Empress, a proven, resilient vessel with an excellent operational track record in the Pelotas region.

The Pelotas Basin continues to attract strong industry attention due to its geological connection with the prolific Orange Basin offshore Africa. This conjugate margin relationship enhances the exploration potential on the South American side.

With acquisition finalised and the survey completed in line with our planned late Q1 2026 timeline, we look forward to delivering this expanded dataset to explorers seeking new opportunities in one of Brazil's most promising frontier basins. Decision-ready data will be available to the industry in the first half of Q2 2026.
