The majority of German citizens continue to support the Nord Stream 2 Pipeline, according to opinion research institute forsa. Some 73 percent of poll respondents approved of the pipeline, while 67 percent said they do not believe that importing Russian gas jeopardises Germany’s independence. A previous poll conducted in July 2018 found similar results.
The poll was conducted by forsa Institute for Social Research and Statistical Analysis for media group RTL on 17/18 January 2019.
