Algeria has launched Algeria Bid Round 2026, offering seven exploration blocks across Ouargla, Illizi, Touggourt and El Bayadh, with bid submissions due 26 November 2026 and contracts expected to be signed by 31 January 2027 under production-sharing or participation agreements (depending on the block).
Getech have completed a systematic petroleum systems assessment covering key basins in the region, including Illizi-Berkine, Oued Mya-Mouydir, Timimoun-Ahnet and Tindouf-Reggane. The analysis focuses on the fundamentals that drive the chance of success, including source rock, reservoir and seal distribution and quality issues, framed within the tectonostratigraphic evolution of the platform.
Getech use this type of basin-scale analysis alongside:
• Gravity and magnetic data (including derivatives and advanced processing) to map structure and reduce uncertainty
• Depth-to-basement/sediment thickness from integrated G&M approaches constrained by independent data
• Temperature-depth maps to add thermal context where relevant
If you’re assessing the Algeria Bid Round 2026 and would like to discuss data packages, petroleum systems analysis or a focused screening study, contact Getech.
