Serica Energy has successfully commissioned a new Flare Gas Recovery System (FGRS) on the Bruce asset – delivering a step-change in both emissions reduction and asset performance.
- ~40% reduction in routine flaring
- Hydrocarbon flare gas cut from 6.9 to ~4.5 tonnes
- ~£600k per year in additional gas sales
- Lower carbon intensity and emissions costs
Chris Cox, CEO, said:
“At Serica Energy, care for the environment is a fundamental part of how we do business. This is the right kind of project for Serica, one that both aligns with our goals and creates value.”
The project, part of the Bruce Life Extension Project, also reinforces Serica's alignment with the NSTA’s drive to reduce routine flaring and supports their long-term licence to operate in the UKCS.
Serica believe this may be a UK first for retrofitting an FGRS – demonstrating what’s possible when innovation, collaboration and commitment to decarbonisation come together.
