GeoClerk Launches Groundbreaking API

GeoClerk Launches API for Programmatic and Agentic Access to the World's Largest Corpus of Sub-Surface Exploration Text & Imagery

For years, geoscientists working across minerals, oil and gas, geothermal, groundwater and carbon storage have relied on GeoClerk to find and interpret the world's largest corpus of sub-surface exploration material.

Over those years GeoClerk has made that vast corpus genuinely searchable, letting a geoscientist at a screen pinpoint the right document by location, keyword or image type in seconds, where the same work once meant days of manual digging. The API takes that power and removes its last constraint: the speed of a single person clicking through results. What one analyst can query by hand, an application (or an AI agent) can now run across the entire archive continuously, far faster and at far greater scale.

That turns GeoClerk's search from something a team uses into something a team can build on: every repetitive query automated, every dashboard fed live, and the world's largest corpus of sub-surface exploration material moving at the speed of the pipelines and agents that increasingly drive modern exploration.

Today GeoClerk takes the next step with the launch of the GeoClerk API opening programmatic and agentic access to the same corpus, searchable spatially, textually, by image type, or any combination of the three, exactly as geoscientists search it today.

"Geoscientists have always come to GeoClerk because it turns a vast, messy archive into something they can search in seconds - by place, by word, by image type," said Tim Hall-Johnston, Head of Product at GeoClerk. "The API is the natural next step. It takes that same search power and hands it straight to your code and your AI agents, so the research that used to fill an analyst's week can run in the background in minutes. We're not changing how geoscientists explore, we're giving them a far bigger lever to do it with."

With the API, organisations can automate the work that used to consume their analysts:

  • Repetitive research tasks: run the searches your team repeats every day, on a schedule, without a person in the loop.
  • Internal newsletters and dashboards: feed live exploration intelligence straight into the tools your organisation already uses.
  • Data screening and review: triage and surface relevant material at scale.
  • Greenfields investigation: systematically scan regions, basins and commodities to find what others have missed.

Because it is built for both programmatic and agentic use, AI agents can query the corpus directly - searching, filtering by geometry, and retrieving documents, stories, images and geochemistry as part of automated reasoning workflows.

The API ships with a full OpenAPI specification and a ready-to-use Postman collection, with standard Bearer API-key authentication, so engineering teams can integrate in hours, not weeks.

The GeoClerk API is available now to subscribers on Enterprise plans and as an add-on to existing subscriptions.
